After traveling several hours more we made it to Zaandam Holland. This was home to Zaanse Schans. This was one of the places I had several people tell me about prior to leaving.

| We watched a cheese making demonstration. I laughed as we were a group of dairymen. |

| The fabulous cheese shop had samples of all the different cheeses they made. We were a bunch of kids in a toy store trying them all. What was better than free cheese samples!! Some of the cheeses were different and interesting to say the least, but some were absolutely fabulous. We had to bring home two of our favorites. |

| We next went to the wooden shoe "Klompen" store and museum |

| The history of the shoes and old style shoes were interesting to see. They had several different types and some of the earliest kind made and used. |

| There were even a pair of diamond studded klompen in a glass case that were artist inspired |
 |
| Part of the museum we watched a five minute demonstration that showed us the making of the shoes from wood to finish. It was amazing as they used the way as used over 100 years prior. |

| Some Dutch people still wear the klompen while many are sold to tourists. |

| I was thrilled to finally see shoes that fit me. They were there as a tourists photo op. LOL! With limited time weren't able to see it all. Maybe a trip back one day. |

| After a long day we traveled to Ijmuiden for our two day stay at the Apollo hotel. The view from our balcony was beautiful. |
